About Us

Ebenezer United Methodist Church has been in the Chase-Middle River community since 1790 – “a light at the top of the hill.” We are located on 17 wooded acres at the intersection of Ebenezer and Earls Roads, 2.5 miles from route 40 and 4 miles from White Marsh Shopping Mall.

Even as our church has grown from the small wooden Bird River Chapel across the road, to our current complex of buildings for worship, education, and programs, our family of faith has maintained the warmth of a community church.

We worship on Sundays at 8:30 am (casual, contemporary) and at 10:00 am (traditional). All our worship is Christ-centered. We offer informal communion each week at 8:30, and full liturgy with communion first Sundays at 10 and on special occasions.  We provide opportunities for worshippers to participate in services through spoken prayer requests, reading scriptures, singing in the choir, greeting and ushering, serving communion, and playing music.  Our buildings are air-conditioned, and we have ample parking.

The people of Ebenezer United Methodist Church
MEMBERSHIP in Ebenezer United Methodist church is open to all persons who sincerely desire to lead a Christian life, to grow with us as we learn more about God’s purposes for our lives, and to serve Jesus Christ in the world.
We receive members by profession or reaffirmation of faith, and by transfer from other churches.  Classes for youth and adults about Christian beliefs and Methodist belief and practice are led by the pastor several times a year.

Children and babies are received as preparatory members when they are baptized.  We recognize the baptism of other Christian churches, and we baptize those who have never been baptized by sprinkling, pouring or full immersion.  For information on baptism, please telephone the church at 410 335-2172 or e-mail Pastor Cindy Burkert
